Built an executable research program for several foundational questions, then made the program justify its own complexity before it was allowed to grow.
Done
- Models converted the research aim into a working program with a stated purpose, stopping conditions, negative-result handling, and a path from exploration to testing.
- Several isolated model probes explored different foundational questions without access to the existing project, giving the later work independent raw material rather than inherited agreement.
- An external model review found that the proposed machinery was rigorous on paper and in danger of becoming a monument to rigor.
- I accepted the useful protections but required them to prove their value in the first live run. Any protection that never changed an outcome would be removed.
- One deliberately thin pilot was selected for execution instead of expanding the abstract design again.
The project now had enough machinery to become its own avoidance strategy. Review caught that before the first run.
The solution was to make the method face the same kind of refusal it imposed on its research. The new safeguards were admitted provisionally and given a concrete test: if they did not block, downgrade, redirect, or repair actual work, they did not get to remain merely because they sounded careful.
That set up the next day. The program stopped describing how it would work and started running.
