- Models completed the questions left open by the previous day's failure and reran the work affected by it.
- A second review found that one headline claim was broader than the underlying result. I withdrew it rather than soften the wording around it.
- What survived was consolidated into a narrower working account with clear limits on what it could support.
- The stopping rules were tightened so later model runs could not treat unresolved disagreement as completion.
The repaired process produced less dramatic language and a more useful result. That is the right trade.
The two-day pass also clarified a recurring problem with model research: once a plausible synthesis exists, later work tends to inherit it as fact. The solution was not a better prompt. It was to make acceptance separate from generation and to leave disputed work visibly unfinished.
